Chinese Beauty Scroll Painting – Silk Wall Art – Ribbons Peach Palace

Hang this Chinese beauty scroll painting and the first thing it offers is crane, peach, palace, and ribbons. For lovers of classical Chinese lady wall art, the format will feel familiar and the subject fresh. It carries the calm of the studio it was painted in.

Look longer and the meaning opens up — peaches, the fruit of longevity, and cranes, messengers of longevity. The brushwork — classical brushwork — is matched by soft natural tones, applied without ever overwhelming the silk. Unlike paper, silk forgives nothing — and this brushwork needed no forgiveness. Soft natural tones dominate the scene, but small accents keep crane from getting lost. Around crane, peach, and palace, the soft natural tones settle into a calm, unified field. Look for crane, peach, and palace first; the soft natural tones around them do the quiet work of holding the scene together.

Keep it out of direct harsh sun, and the colors will stay true for years. A meaningful gift for birthdays, housewarmings, and festivals.
