Chinese Painting Scroll – Silk Wall Art – Mirror Cat

Collectors of traditional Chinese painting scroll will recognize the format immediately — silk scroll, beauty, cat, mirror, and blossom, classical brushwork. Among classical Chinese wall decor, this one stands out for the confidence of its brushwork. The scene breathes; nothing is crowded, and the silk itself becomes part of the picture.

Every element carries its own quiet message: a graceful beauty in classical dress; a cat, the quiet guardian of the household. The subject takes its form from classical brushwork; its feeling comes from soft natural tones. The painting's surface has a soft hand-feel that only woven silk gives. The beauty, cat, mirror, and blossom are rendered with classical brushwork, while soft natural tones tie the whole scene together. The balance between beauty, cat, and mirror and the surrounding soft natural tones feels exactly right.

It brings a scholar's calm to modern interiors; the bedroom works as well as the study. A lovely gift for parents or grandparents who appreciate traditional art.
