Author Theresa Meuse is a First Nations educator and advisor from the Bear River First Nation and developed this book for Indigenous and non-Indigenous parents, teachers and other educators with a visual tool that makes for a fun and interactive way for children to learn. Alex learns she has a voice of her own when she speaks respectfully during a talking circle. In addition her self-esteem improves as her cousin guides her with the protocols when attending a powwow or special gathering. Colour illustrations by Art Stevens assists readers with carefully detailed images. A minor typo was noted. Ideal for elementary level students.
